Prenatal breastfeeding support for a calmer start

The early days with a newborn can feel like a blur. Prenatal breastfeeding support is not about memorizing everything or expecting a “perfect” start. It is about reducing surprises, naming what is normal, and building a foundation so you have fewer frantic searches at 2 a.m.

Using insurance? Check coverage through The Lactation Network first. Self-pay prenatal and visit fees are listed on Pricing & Getting Started.

Baby and family in a calm, supportive moment
Preparation without pressure

Why prepare before baby arrives

You deserve information that is steady, kind, and practical. Prenatal visits can help you feel more grounded before birth, so you can focus on resting and bonding when your baby is here.

What you can learn, without the pressure

Depending on your questions and history, we may cover topics such as:

  • How milk production often begins and what early feeding can look like
  • Comfortable positioning and how to know baby is feeding well
  • Hand expression or pumping basics if they apply to your situation
  • How partners and support people can help in realistic ways
  • What to watch for in the first days and weeks, and when to call your care team

We focus on preparation and confidence, not a single “right” way to feed. Plans can change; you will still leave with tools to adapt.

How visits are structured

Sessions are conversational and paced for you. There is space for your worries, without alarmism, and for your hopes. We clarify myths gently, share evidence-informed guidance, and help you think through what you might want to discuss with your OB, midwife, or pediatric provider when relevant. Prenatal sessions are available by telehealth or in your home, depending on what we arrange together (we are not currently scheduling appointments at the business address).
